Who we are
We are a Montréal-based nonprofit organization founded by three university students. Everything we do comes back to the idea of our name, as we aim to give people a real advantage.
Sometimes that's money you're owed back at tax time. Sometimes it's the hands-on experience that gets you noticed in a finance career. Either way, Initiative Avantage built and run by students who are still living the problems we're trying to solve.

What we do
Vantage Tax Clinic
A free, virtual tax clinic for those with a simple tax situation and modest income. Every return is prepared by trained volunteers registered with the CRA and Revenu Quebec's official volunteer tax programs.
What we stand for
Accessibility
We believe financial support shouldn't depend on income, background, or ability to pay. Our services are free and designed to remove barriers, not create new ones.
Dignity
Everyone deserves to be treated with respect and patience, especially when navigating something as stressful as taxes. We meet people where they are, without judgment.
Community
We're built by and for the community we serve. We believe lasting change happens when neighbors show up for each other.
Our story
Initiative Avantage was founded by three university students who kept running into the same problem every tax season: people around us were stressed, confused, or simply avoiding their taxes altogether, not because they didn't care, but because the system wasn't built to be understood by everyone.
We come from different backgrounds and different corners of the world, but we share the same starting point: none of us had someone to walk us through the basics when we needed it most. That gap stuck with us.
